Getting set up — 6 steps
Enable ServiceNow Now Assist (Admin Required)
Log into ServiceNow using admin access. Navigate to stats.do. Go to Now Assist Admin → Now Assist Features → Technology → ITSM → Incident. Activate Incident Summarization skill. Requires ServiceNow Zurich version and ITSM Pro license.
Configure Incident Summarization Skill
Within the skill setup, define the trigger (user-triggered or automatic), choose input data (Short description, Description, Work notes, Additional comments), set availability, and click Review and Activate.
Set Up GitHub Copilot for Diagram Analysis
Request GitHub Copilot access via the Cisco AppStore. Install VSCode and the Copilot extensions. For process flow analysis, use Agent mode and select Claude Sonnet 4.5 as your model.
Access M365 Copilot
M365 Copilot is accessible via Microsoft 365. Open the Copilot app or chat, attach your process flow diagram, and use the provided prompt template. Generated PowerPoint files save automatically to OneDrive.
Access CIRCUIT
Go to circuit.cisco.com/app/home. No additional setup required for Cisco employees — available by default. Upload your diagram or document and use the provided prompt. CIRCUIT auto-selects the best model for the task.
Run Your First Use Case
Start with the process flow diagram analysis in GitHub Copilot — it has the fastest time-to-value. Attach a diagram PNG, use the README prompt, and you'll have structured documentation in under 2 minutes.
Prompting best practices for leaders
Assign a Business Role
"You are an executive business analyst" frames the AI to produce leadership-appropriate output — not technical deep-dives.
Always Attach the Diagram
For diagram analysis or presentation creation, attaching the PNG as context produces dramatically more accurate output than describing it in words.
Specify the Audience
Tell the AI who will see the output: "for leadership review" or "for a Steerco audience" — this shapes the language, depth, and tone of the response.
Use CIRCUIT for Confidential Data
When working with sensitive or confidential Cisco information, use CIRCUIT rather than external tools. It's approved for Highly Confidential Cisco data.
Iterate on the Output
If the first presentation draft isn't right, follow up in the same session: "Add a slide on ROI" or "Simplify the workflow slide for a non-technical audience."
Validate Before Sharing
AI presentations are strong first drafts. Always review for accuracy before sharing with stakeholders — especially numbers, names, and strategic recommendations.
